• Why did you decide to become an SLP? I became a speech-language pathologist because I’ve always known I wanted a career centered around helping people. My interest in the field began when my younger cousin was born deaf and later received bilateral cochlear implants. Watching her go through therapy to learn how to communicate sparked my passion for speech and language development and inspired me to pursue a career where I could make a meaningful difference in others’ lives.

  • What is your SLP superpower? My SLP superpower is building meaningful connections with my clients and their families from the very start. I believe that getting to know each child’s interests is essential. I take pride in helping my clients find their voice and learn to communicate in ways that are functional and meaningful in their daily lives. Supporting both the client and their family is a priority for me, as families play a vital role in reinforcing and encouraging communication throughout everyday life.

  • What do you like to do for fun? I love spending time with my goldendoodle, Theo—he’s always up for an adventure. I also enjoy reading a good book or heading to the beach whenever I can.

  • What do you love about TeamUp Therapy? I love their commitment to making therapy accessible to all populations. The teletherapy model not only breaks down barriers to access while also encouraging strong family involvement.

  • Areas of interest: I enjoy working with the pediatric population, especially children ages 3 to 9. My areas of interest include early language disorders, articulation, and phonological disorders. I also have a strong interest in literacy-based treatment approaches and play-based therapy, which I believe are essential for building meaningful and functional communication skills in young children.
