Why did you decide to become an SLP? Becoming a speech-language pathologist felt like a natural extension of my interests. I have always loved working with children, and my love of language, writing, and communication made speech therapy a natural fit!
-
What is your SLP superpower? My superpower is knowing which tools and strategies to put into parents’ hands so they can make a far greater impact on their child’s communication development than I could ever create within a therapy session alone. I see myself as a resource, equipping families to support communication during daily routines and everyday activities between sessions. Keeping those strategies confined to therapy is the kryptonite. When parents know how to use them throughout their child’s day, they become the real superheroes.

What do you like to do for fun? I enjoy communicating outside of therapy too. Believe it or not, I love to write for fun! I also enjoy any time I can get with family and friends, anything that involves nature, even if it’s just sitting outside, and spending time with my Goldendoodle, Darby, and my cat, Finn.

What do you love about TeamUp Therapy? I love that TeamUp Therapy is innovative in meeting families exactly where they are through their virtual model while keeping family-centered care at the heart of their approach. Communication grows through connection, and empowering families to support that growth in everyday life allows the impact of therapy to reach far beyond the session!
