Why did you decide to become an SLP? I always knew I wanted to work within the healthcare field. When my sister and I were growing up, she was diagnosed with auditory-processing disorder and received speech therapy. I had many other experiences with friends and community members during my matriculation in college that led me to learning about the field of speech pathology and I was hooked!

What is your SLP superpower? My SLP superpower would have to be relationship building! I have always felt very comfortable being able to make friends wherever I go and that does not fall short in my professional life. I believe I can always find ways to connect with others and quickly begin fostering relationships with those I come to meet!

What do you like to do for fun? I enjoy reading, walking, baking and spending time with my friends and family! Being in Charleston, SC, my husband and I enjoy exploring our city, site seeing, and visiting new and exciting restaurants and activities our city has to offer. We are also new home-owners and are enjoying making our house a home with painting, decorating and completing the many projects on our to-do list!
