Why did you decide to become an SLP? Both of my parents and aunts had careers in special education and working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, so I “grew up” in this field. After several major changes in college, always within the sciences, speech language pathology was the perfect fit for me. It allowed me to continue with a scientific, clinical career, while serving families and children with exceptional needs.

What is your SLP superpower? I believe this SLP superpower is something developed through experience with the families I’ve served–connecting to and encouraging families and caregivers. I try to connect with parents and caregivers, and their children, showing them love and acceptance from the beginning. I take pride in my role in helping families see their child’s strengths and how to build on those strengths as their child grows and changes.

What do you like to do for fun? Having a young baller, I have developed a love for watching college volleyball, both indoor and beach. I enjoy serving at my church, cooking/baking and trying new recipes, and hanging with my family playing some serious UNO.

What do you love about TeamUp Therapy? All the things!! I love the genuine desire to serve families by meeting them where they are; the level of support provided to therapists; and how organized and streamlined all processes of the company are.
