We #TeamUp with families like yours to unlock the unique potential of your child through individualized and ultra-convenient occupational therapy. Our team is expert in helping kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities thrive.
What is occupational therapy?
Occupational therapy (OT) helps children develop the skills they need to perform everyday activities, from play and school participation to self-care and socializing. Our team of licensed occupational therapists work with children to strengthen fine motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive abilities to promote greater independence and participation in daily life.
Occupational therapy addresses challenges in the following areas:
Fine motor skills (e.g., handwriting, using utensils, manipulating small objects)
Sensory processing (e.g., sensitivity to textures, sounds, or touch, difficulty with attention)
Gross motor coordination (e.g., balance, climbing, jumping)
Self-care skills (e.g., dressing, feeding, hygiene)
Cognitive skills (e.g., problem-solving, attention, memory)
Visual-motor integration (e.g., eye-hand coordination needed for tasks like catching a ball or copying shapes)
Social skills (e.g., engaging with peers, taking turns, following instructions)
What are some signs your child might benefit from occupational therapy?
Is your child experiencing difficulties with everyday tasks such as play, self-care, or participation in school? These challenges can affect their independence, confidence, and ability to engage in daily activities. Our occupational therapy services offer personalized strategies to support your child’s development.
Your child may benefit from occupational therapy if they have difficulty:
Using their hands to complete fine motor tasks (e.g., holding a pencil, cutting with scissors, or buttoning clothes)
Maintaining balance or coordination in gross motor tasks (e.g., jumping, running, or climbing)
Processing sensory information (e.g., sensitivity to textures, sounds, or movement, or seeking excessive sensory input)
Performing self-care tasks independently (e.g., feeding, dressing, or brushing teeth)
Paying attention or staying focused on tasks at home or in school
Playing or engaging with others in a social setting
Understanding and following multi-step directions
Handling frustration or adapting to changes in routine
Using visual-motor skills (e.g., eye-hand coordination tasks like catching a ball or copying shapes)
If any of these signs resonate with your family's experience, it may be time to consider how our individualized occupational therapy can help.

While every session is different, what remains consistent is our dedication to providing family-centered, individualized care that helps your child thrive in their daily life.
What is “family-centered” therapy?
When we say 'family-centered therapy,' we mean that you're not just an observer, but an integral part of your child's progress. We believe therapy is a collaborative journey that requires a strong team; that includes your TeamUp Therapy Occupational Therapist, your child, and YOU! We're committed to empowering you to take an active role in your child's development. This means equipping you with the practical tools and confidence you need to support your child's progress between sessions. We are expert at what we do, but the magic happens at home.
What can I expect moving forward?
Your journey with TeamUp Therapy will begin with a comprehensive evaluation scheduled at a time that's convenient for you. During the evaluation, our expert occupational therapists will use a variety of tools and assessments to understand your child’s unique strengths and challenges in areas like motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities. Within two weeks, you'll receive a detailed report outlining specific, measurable goals tailored to your child’s needs.
If the evaluation indicates that occupational therapy is necessary, we will discuss scheduling options that fit your routine. Typically, your child will participate in weekly or bi-weekly therapy sessions, though the frequency may vary depending on their individual treatment plan. Throughout the process, we keep communication open and clear, ensuring that everyone involved in your child's care—from therapists to caregivers—is aligned and informed.
To sum it up - you can expect family-centered, ultra-convenient and individualized care for your child from a team committed to supporting your journey.

“Ashley is engaged and caring - she reaches out to families on her own time to check-in, and treats every kid like one of her own. We would not be where we are today without her."
